Storm Damaged Villa in Marco Island
The renters of this villa in Marco Island were visiting on the east coast of Florida when a severe storm struck the area and broke the window over the sink area. The volumes of water wicked into the particle board cabinetry, and slipped under the linoleum flooring and soaked the plywood underlay. Our SERVPRO storm damage team demolished and stripped down the kitchen for drying, sanitizing, and deodorizing. We succeeded in salvaging the laminated plywood and dried out the walls without any gutting and discarding. We used plenty of air movers to increase the circulation and evaporation of the remaining moisture which was then captured by a large chemical dehumidifier. We did seal off the rest of the villa to increase the efficacy of our equipment during the drying out process. The landlord then had his own contractor come in to reinstall a new kitchen. He was very satisfied with our rapid storm damage restoration.
